PlaqView
We are happy to announce we received a Young Investigator grant through the ongoing Leducq Plaqomics projects entitled PlaqView: Open-Source Web Application to Enable Rapid Visualization and Integration of Single-Cell Data for Atherosclerosis.
Executive summary
With the rapid generation of single cell datasets in the cardiovascular field, there is now a critical need for a centralized, interactive repository in order to extract meaningful insights from these data. Further, specialized bioinformatics skills are often required to parse, analyze and visualize these single-cell datasets. Here, we propose the implementation and expansion of a web-based interactive application called PlaqView, where researchers can rapidly access and visualize complex single-cell datasets and perform custom analysis without prior programming knowledge. PlaqView will be able to analyze deposited datasets regardless of sequencing techniques and species, and will be a key resource for the cardiovascular research community.
PlaqView is a collaboration between Sander van der Laan, Gerard Pasterkamp, and Lotte Slenders (UMC Utrecht, Netherlands), Clint Miller and Wei Feng Ma (University of Virginia, Charlottesville, USA) and Johan Björkegren (Icahn School of Medicine, New York, USA).
This collaboration has lead to two publications: Atherosclerosis 2022 and Frontiers Cardiovascular Medicine 2022. We also created a short video on PlaqView 2.0.
